LO UNICO NECESARIO • THE ONE THING NECESSARY

ESPAÑOL (Proverbios 15:8 y 15:33)

¿Alguna vez te has puesto a pensar en qué te causa gozo? Para algunos, un momento "perfecto" es un rato con los hijos, para otros es la hora de cerrar un buen negocio, para otros quizá sea cocinarle a la familia y para alguien más puede ser simplemente estar en la iglesia y alabar a Dios. ¿Qué te causa gozo a vos? Pero más importante aún ¿qué le causara gozo a Dios? Y aunque hay muchas respuestas "correctas", en el verso 8 del capítulo 15 de Proverbios hay una respuesta interesante: la oración de los rectos. Así es, cuando oramos, Dios dice: "este es un buen momento". Sin embargo, el problema es esa parte de "los rectos", que nos dice que a Dios no le da gozo cualquier oración sino la de los rectos.

Ahora bien, el capítulo termina en el verso 33 en el que la Biblia dice que antes de la honra viene la humillación. ¿Te habías dado cuenta de que Dios también honra a las personas? El Dios de todo el universo es capaz de darle honor a ciertas personas y esto es verdaderamente impresionante. Sin embargo, dice que antes de la honra viene la humillación. ¿Por qué?

Bueno, la respuesta es tan simple que asusta: La honra que Dios da es demasiado grande y poderosa y si Dios no te quiebra antes de dártela, tu corazón no la podrá manejar y se va a llenar de vanagloria y orgullo y otro montón de cosas que, la verdad, serían peligrosas.

Así que un momento de gozo para Dios es cuando sus hijos por fin aceptan que no pueden cumplir por sí mismos el propósito tan grande que Dios tiene para ellos y se humillan delante de él para pedirle lo necesario para cumplir Su voluntad. Eso es un buen momento para él.

Cuando Salomón recibió el trono de Israel se sintió inadecuado para reinar, así que pidió lo único que sabía que necesitaba para cumplir con ese papel tan importante: sabiduría.

Dios tiene propósitos enormes para vos y algunos ya los has comenzado a vislumbrar. No lo podés lograr con tus propias fuerzas así que la pregunta es: ¿Qué es lo único que necesitás para cumplirlos? Pedísela a Dios!

Entonces vas a saber lo que es el gozo porque si un día con tus hijos te causa gozo hoy, Dios dice "todavía no sabés hasta donde puede llegar el gozo". Imaginate un día con tus hijos mientras sirven juntos a Jesús. Si cocinar te da gozo, imaginate un día cocinándole a las personas que no tienen ni un pan. Si un buen negocio te da gozo, imaginate cerrar un negocio con el que muchas familias se van a beneficiar.

Ese gozo sólo lo da Dios porque es un gozo que viene de su propio gozo. Y para esto, primero, tenés que humillarte delante de él y aceptar que no podés lograrlo con tus propias fuerzas. Y ese será un buen día para vos y para Dios.

ENGLISH (Proverbs 15:8 & 15:33)

Have you ever thought about what makes you feel joy? For some, a 'perfect' moment might be hanging a while with the kids, for some other it could be a good business deal, for others it might be family cooking hour and for some people a 'perfect' time could mean a time at church and worshipping. What makes you feel joy? But, more important: What makes God feel joy? And even there are a lot of 'correct' answers to that question, the verse 8 of chapter 15 of Proverbs gives us an interesting answer: the prayers of the upright. Oh yes, when we pray God says: 'This is a good moment'. However, the problem is that 'upright' part because it's saying to us that God doesn't please with any kind of prayer but the ones of the upright.

Now, the chapter ends in verse 33 by saying that before the honor, comes the humility. Have you notice that God also honors people? The God of the universe giving honor to the people! That's amazing! Nevertheless, the Bibles says that before the honor, comes the humility. Why?

Well, the answer is so simple that it scares: The honor that God gives is so big and so powerful that, if God doesn't breaks you first, your heart won't be able to handle it and it's going to get filled with pride, empty glory and more stuff that, to tell the truth, will be dangerous.

So, a moment of joy for God is when his sons and daughters accept that they can't fulfill by themselves the great purpose that God has for them and humiliate before him to ask what's necessary to accomplish his will. That's a good moment.

When Solomon got the throne of Israel, he felt inadequate to rule, so he asked for the one thing that he knew he need to fulfill the task: wisdom, a hearing heart.

God has gigantic dreams for you and some of those you already know. But you won't be able to accomplish those goals by your own means, so the question is: What is the one thing necessary for you to be able? Ask God for it!

Then you'll know what true joy is because if a good day for you is a day with your kids, you could hear God saying 'you don't even know what the true joy can feel like'. Imagine a day with your kids serving together to your Lord! If cooking makes you feel joy, imagine a day cooking for those who have nothing to eat! If a good business gives you joy, imagine closing a deal that will bless a lot of families!

That joy can only come from God because it came from his own joy. And, for this could happen, first, you have to humiliate yourself before him and accept that you can't make it on your own. And that will be a good day for you and for God.
